CAIP Changshu Technical Center General Manager / Leader

RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Lead, guide, set goals, as well as create growth and results for the operations of the Technical Center in Changshu, China
2. Human Resource leadership, hiring, dismissal and retention
3. Overall profit and loss responsibility for the Technical Center in Changshu
4. Enhance communication capability within the Technical Center, and work to foster improving interface functions with all CAIP Group organizations: Purchasing, Manufacturing, HR, Sales, Project Teams, Overseas affiliates, and other business units
5. Continue to grow overall Engineering, Design and Development (“ED&D”) processes and workflow for the Technical Center
6. To constantly monitor and assess the achievement of milestones and establish a scorecard for Key Indicators of Performance (“KIP”) for the Technical Center operations
7. Risk management and escalation of critical product and customer concerns in a timely manner
8. Build relationships and partnerships within CAIP Group: with customers, among JV partners and among regional centers as well as affiliates
9. Sell products through your network and support Sales Department on an on-going basis
10. Reporting to President of CAIP Group



OBJECTIVES:

1. Build and grow an effective ED&D organization that sets a benchmark in Jiangsu Province
2. Determine KIP for each ED&D branch of the organization, and ensure that a project planning, reporting and review is timely, accurate, impactful and meaningful to the organization as well as the customer base
3. Ensure that key milestones are achieved according to budget, timing, quality and CAIP group targets
4. Ensure adequate support is in place for all first off tool samples (“OTS”) both at tool shops, CAIP Group plants and customer facilities
5. Building strong leadership across ED&D teams and develop succession plans with an eye on developing talent to become your successor
6. Ensure all projects are delivered on time and are of the highest quality
7. Firmly institute a product development process at CAIP that is bought-into and complements the VDP of key customers



REQUIREMENTS AND CAPABILITIES:

1. University Degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Chemical, Polymer, Manufacturing or similar degree) with an advanced degree (masters) either in process or already completed. In addition, a proven record of executive leadership in the automotive OEM, Tier 1 or Tier 2 is also preferred.
2. Strong professional track record with at least 10 years of engineering experience leading Chinese ED&D firm that is engaged in manufacturing
3. Experience in subsystem and component engineering and product launches (Manufacturing and processing experience a plus)
4. ED&D experience from early ideation through SOP and continuous improvement engineering
5. Management capabilities in small to mid-sized company with entrepreneurial and start-up experience a plus
6. Can effectively cope with change and ambiguous situations. Exhibits flexibility.
7. Culturally attuned to working with Chinese engineers and in a Chinese engineering and manufacturing firm. Emotionally intelligent, nurturing and a culturally sensitive individual is a must.
8. Is dedicated to meeting the expectations and requirements of internal and external customers
9. Outstanding leadership skills with the ability to effectively motivate and challenge a team
10. Capable of running an engineering organization as General Manager
11. HR, Financial, Purchasing and product costing skill sets desirable
12. Manages to deliver results and is decisive
13. Design for Six Sigma familiarity
14. Proven networking and communication skills in a multi-cultural environment
15. Working proficiency in Mandarin or ability to work easily with a translator
16. Brings the creative and innovative ideas of others to production, and understands how potential ideas may play out in the marketplace
17. Communicates a compelling and inspired vision or sense of core purpose and demonstrates ability to strategically think and express ideas
18. Well organized and uses latest Microsoft suite of tools for communicating ideas
19. Provides challenging tasks and assignments for developing direct reports and others

Design Engineer

REQUIREMENTS:

1. University graduate or higher academic qualification, major in tooling manufacturing, mechanical engineering or other related field
2. Strong knowledge of UG or CATIA, ability to work on structure design of automotive parts
3. Provide design proposal and has ability to create 3D models based on customer requirements
4. Good foreign language skills and communication capability in English or German
5. Certain basic knowledge on automotive engineering, ergonomics and tooling
6. Able to go on long-term business trips and assignment
7. More than 1 year of experience in automotive parts design is preferred

Project Engineer

REQUIREMENTS:

1. University graduate or higher academic qualification, major in tooling, mechanical or material engineering
2. Able to proactively communicate with customers with regards to project issues (quality, cost, timing, and other related factors)
3. One year or more experience in project development in the automotive field (experience with leading a team preferred)
4. Good oral and written English
5. Good planning, organization, analytical skills and decision-making ability are a MUST
6. Proactive and familiar with the TS16949 system
7. Fresh graduates who finished at the top of their class may also be considered

CAE Engineer

REQUIREMENTS:

1. University graduate or higher academic qualification, major in automotive, mechanical, mechanics or material engineering
2. Ability to build a model using FEM analysis for structure stiffness, strength, modal fluid, and other related items
3. Ability to solve issues in processes, explain the outcome of an analysis, consolidate reports, provide accurate conclusions on results, and provide solutions to problems
4. Good communication skills, self-learning ability and is able to work well in a team
5. Good comprehension of CAE tools such as HyperMesh, Abaqus, Ls-Dyna and Nastran (strong abilities to use these tools is preferred)
